Designer maker of bespoke contemporary furniture
One-off commissions created by Rupert Williamson of fine art furniture in specially chosen hardwoods
In the early part of the 1980's Rupert Williamson embarked on developing ideas inspired by natural forms. These bookcases give an indication of the results of this way of working. The first shows the influence of rock strata whilst another that viewers think was inspireed by flames but in fact is trees being blown in the wind. The coloured piece came later when I worked on a theme of asymetrical shapes.
